Hi! My name is Ignasi Vallès. I grew up with long summers in the Pyrenees and cold winters chasing waves. Somewhere along the way, that turned into a PhD in physical oceanography, probably not a coincidence. I spend my time trying to understand how currents, winds, heat, and freshwater shape the ocean, and how the ocean feeds back onto climate. Along that journey I’ve studied and lived in different places, driven not only by academic or professional goals but also by curiosity about social and natural landscapes, and, whenever possible, by the chance to surf or climb. That particular combination keeps me permanently in observe mode, whether it’s the shape of a mountain slope or perfect wave, or a quiet detail in a random place. A story that belongs only to the people there, or to the landscape itself shaped by an evolving climate.
